Another Laser Hair Removal Update

For those who haven’t been following my laser hair removal journey, you can check out my first post about getting zapped dooooown there and my second post about laser hair removal on my legs.

I am going to keep this simple and straight to the point. My journey to hair free legs has not been easy. Shortly after posting my laser hair removal update something terrible happened. My legs got a nassssty rash. I am going to share some pictures with you. I warn you – they are gross.

The day after my laser hair removal treatment.

Day 4

The rash affected the lower half of both of my legs, all the way around. To say it itched is an understatement. It felt like I was cursed by the Rash Queen who unleashed hundreds of itch army men all over my legs. As soon as I saw the raised bumps, I started googling to see if this kind of reaction was normal after a laser hair removal treatment. Consensus – Yes, it does affect some people, but not all. I was one of the lucky ones, I guess. All of the articles basically said to use hydrocortisone cream and warned ‘DO NOT ITCH’. Riiiiiiight. That’s easier said than done. So I did what I was told – I slathered on a crap ton of hydrocortisone, but then I thought, “I havvvve to itch. I will just do a quick once over and be done. I can restrain myself.” I couldn’t have been more wrong in my life. I began furiously scratching with no relief. It kept getting worse and worse. Eventually I did stop, but it took everything in my being.

This rash sent by the devil himself lasted about a week. The red bumps didn’t go away for about two weeks, maybe more.

You would think a smart girl like myself wouldn’t put herself through that kind of hell again, but I did. I did this FIVE times! FIVE TIMES! People are supposed to go through six treatments to get the desired affect of hair loss.

Here’s the kicker…IT NEVER WORKED!! I can shave one day and have prickly legs by the second day.

Bottom line – SAVE YOUR MONEY AND YOUR SANITY! DO NOT get your laser hair removal done on your legs. Now, I will say this, I do have a little lighter hair on my legs, which may be the reason it didn’t work as well. The best results come from dark hair on light skin. Maybe that’s why my bikini area worked better than my legs. Anyway, that’s my recommendation – save the money and skip your legs.

The best part about laser hair removal is that, the results can be permanent most of the times. Unlike other methods of removing body hair, it provides people with fast and effective results.
